A is for April and spring is here
What a winter we’ve had this year!
Too cold, too long and always snowing
With icy winds that never stopped blowing,
Now days are longer, the sun is brighter
My mood is already feeling lighter,
Still snow on the ground doesn’t mean a thing
It’s April in Canada and to us that means spring!
Here is a photo of our Malamute, Loup in our backyard. As you can see, we still have loads of snow but hey, it's April and that means spring is here, dammit!
Here is a link to a funny Canadian Tire video that sums it up so well how Canadians celebrate the arrival of spring. It's spring if we say so!
Hahaha! As a fellow Canadian, I can relate. Our snow has almost disappeared and I hope yours will soon! Beautiful dog you have. That commercial is just perfect. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by, Debbie. Yes, I'm sure you can relate for sure. Bet you wished you were back in Greece this winter.
DeleteI can't even tell you how happy I am that spring is here. I think I caught a touch of that S.A.D. Sunshine, flowers and walks *outside* here we come!

Me, too, Cristina! Let's hear it for Spring at last! Thanks for dropping by!

DeleteSpring! What a lovely sight that must be for you after months of being snowed in. Have a wonderful season, Cat.
ReplyDeleteI am so relieved that spring has finally showed up, Corinne. Winter has been especially hard this year. Thanks for commenting. Fun to be sharing with you again.
DeleteSuper! I am with you on this one. I've had enough of the winter and the weather is warming up just in time for Easter egg hunts. Look forward to more posts through the month!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting ovengoodies. Yes, Easter is coming and hopefully the snow will be gone by then.
DeleteI love the snow and your post! Nice way of react to the Spring start. It's more or less the way Irish see the calendar..I still have to get used to it, but I'll manage!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by, Franny. Appreciate the comments.
DeleteSpring looks a bit different in Germany :) glad you started the challenge as well, a long month ahead! :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully spring has been with you for a while in Germany. I don't think you get winter as harsh as we do. Thanks for dropping in. Nice to be in the challenge with you again.
DeleteI believe you - it's Spring I know. We didn't much snow this year, I didn't miss it. I woke up and thought it was snowing the other morning, but it was all the white cherry blossoms bursting forth :) Reflex Reactions
ReplyDeleteWhite cherry blossoms sound lovely. I'd take that over snow anytime! Thanks for commenting.
DeleteThis has been an awful hard winter for lots of people this year. I am so glad it is spring. This is the first year that I have ever been impatient for its arrival. Looking forward to blogging A-Z with you this year. The commercial made me smile. :D
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy! Fun to be sharing with you at the challenge again this year. Yep, so glad spring is finally here. Enough already!
DeleteIn India, April is the advent of real hot weather. Good start to the A-to-Z challenge, waiting to read what B brings..
ReplyDeleteYour climate certainly sounds different from here. PHEW! Don't think I'd like that heat. Thanks for commenting.
DeleteHello fellow Canadian and A-Zer! I like your verses.
ReplyDeleteHello Fellow Canadian! Thanks for the encouragement! Much appreciated!
DeletePerfect poem for the perfect April - even if the white is dominant everywhere, there is spring in our hearts coz it's April! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Aditi. Appreciate you stopping by.
DeleteI'm hoping Spring springs in soon here in Brooklyn. Yesterday I was flabbergasted when I looked out my bedroom window and saw, not the expected rain, but SNOW!!!!! What!!! Then we got the rain and by afternoon, the sun was wanly making an appearance. It's supposed to rain again tomorrow and Thursday and Friday!!!!AURGH. Will my water-logged hands and feet ever get normal again? Oh well. I like your dog.

UGH! More snow! Sorry to hear that. Hope it melted quickly for you. Thanks for commenting.
DeleteThis gave me a good laugh! The poetry summed up the seasonal debacle perfectly, and that video is priceless. Your puppy looks a bit sick of the powder too! I'm in the Appalachian Mountains, so I'm feeling ya:) And yes, it IS Spring, dammit!
