S is for...

So many great words start with S
I can’t pick one, I must confess,

I love Santa, sweet and sing
Sunshine, Summer, snack and Spring,
Silence, safe, secure and savour
Saffron is a special flavour,

And a good sail or sale is hard to resist
There are more S words than I can list,
Swan, seal, slug, and sea,
Sulk, secret, soon and spree,

And watching a sunset as it slips away
Is the sweetest ending to a special day.
Too many great words start with S
I can’t pick one, I must confess.

    2. I have heard that the best slug bait is catching them and mixing them in a blender and spread it around your garden. Can you even began to understand how gross that would be????

  4. Haha, but why? I think they're cute. My sons used to have slug races. Kind of slow paced but fun. I'm glad to have met you too, Shailaja. Hope we can all stay in touch after the challenge. Thanks for commenting.

  6. I'm not fond of slugs, either. I did like to catch snails, though--even as an adult. I like s's too, like singing, sliding, stretching, snakes, silliness... Letters--aren't they wonderful?

    1. Snails are just glorified slugs in shells, aren't they? ;) Guess I should have said snails instead of slugs. I would have been more popular. Haha!

  8. Lovely poem as always. I don't mind slugs, but I do hate leeches... I blame that one that bit me.
