Happy Just Being

I didn’t solve the world’s problems today
I didn’t even solve mine,
But I did take time to dream and play
And I think that’s just fine,
In a rush, rush world where achievers reign
I might be seen as lazy,
Some might even see me as a pain
Or even a little bit crazy,
Like Ferdinand the Bull, I’m sniffing the flowers
And taking the time to just be,
No chasing fancy titles in glass office towers
I’m happy to just be me.

    1. I used to love reading that book to my kids. Poor Ferdinand was so misunderstood. He just wanted to sniff the flowers and not fight. What's wrong with that?

      Thanks for stopping in LC!

  3. I had to pop over here and see your 'blog home'... and I'm glad I did. :) I think being content in our own skin is a very good state. It took me years to learn it really is okay to be me. I have a poster in my office that says, "Be yourself. An original is always worth more than a copy."

    1. Thanks for dropping by, Carol. I got a kick out of your blog today and the cute slug.

Yes, I am content to be me even if I'm not a high achiever out there trying to make it to the top. Sniffing the flowers suits me just fine.
