Beauty is Everywhere

This quote by Kafka reminds me to look for beauty every day.
It all starts in the mind anyhow. You’re seeing the world through your own special filter of reality and no one else sees it quite the same way.

Since I am an avid photographer, I have my senses finely attuned to look for the beauty all around me. It’s there if we look hard enough.

Beauty is a mourning dove

Beauty is a discarded glove,

Beauty is the sunset on a lake

Beauty is a delicious cake,

Beauty is a bratty cat

Beauty is a rubber mat,

Beauty makes every day a special surprise

All you have to do is open your eyes.

  3. You are right. I loved the photograph of the rubber mat - it was so unexpected. And I enjoyed the mourning dove - I blogged today about passenger pigeons, and, in some ways, they resembled mourning doves. The mourning dove is a favorite of mine - hearing their calls near sunset always brings me peace. Alana

    1. Thanks, bookworm. I thought the mat was interesting with the pattern of the holes. I must read your post on passenger pigeons. Aren't mourning doves lovely? I love their gentle cooing sound.
