D is for "It's Still a Delightful Day!" #AtoZChallenge

It’s totally dull and drab outside
But it’s still a delightful day!
The weather makes you run and hide
But it’s still a delightful day!

The dog tracked mud across the rug
But it’s still a delightful day!
You broke your favourite coffee mug
But it’s still a delightful day!

You feel bloated like a big fat blob
But it’s still a delightful day!
You lost your phone in the subway mob
But it’s still a delightful day!

You broke your shoe on the 8 am train
But it’s still a delightful day!
You forgot your umbrella and it started to rain
But it’s still a delightful day!

Your coworker Josh is a great big jerk
But it’s still a delightful day!
He got that promotion you wanted at work
But it’s still a delightful day!

Your boyfriend left you and you lost your job
But it’s still a delightful day!

HOLD ON! ENOUGH ALREADY! It’s NOT a delightful day. What a load of crap!

It’s DOWNRIGHT DEPRESSING and you want to give up. I get it.

Here, have some chocolate, some cookies, some whiskey  and Sound of Music to watch.

Call me if you want to vent.

Chin up, Girl! Life’s a bitch sometimes!

I am participating in the A to Z Challenge writing a blog post for every day in April, except Sundays. http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/

  1. Ohh...that was a lot of positive thinking, Cat, except in the end! How we could all do with the chocolates and coffee and whisky and music to cheer us up through all the crappy days!

    1. Just thought I'd add a bit of humour and reality to the poem. Sometimes being too positive despite bad stuff does get exhausting and you just want to scream and vent about it. Life is too tough sometimes to always be cheerful, I find.

  2. haha... I Found it funny :) That is kinda how I usually think too. I try to build myself up during bad days but then at the end, somedays you just say "oh, to hell with it. Gimme my booze and let me howl!"

    1. Glad you could relate to the humour, Roshan. I like to try and keep positive as much as possible but some days you just give up when you get dumped on so much that you can't take it anymore. Gimme my booze and let me howl is right! LOL!

  3. Just the sight of those cookies makes me forget all the bad that's happened through the day! :P

My favorite "feel good" food is jeera-aloo sabji, paratha, and a big cup of hot tea! You might not be able to relate to these food items (except the tea of course). I'll do a post on it after the A to Z. Will take some pics when I make this menu next.

    Happy AtoZing!

  4. Hahaha! Pass the whiskey. ☺ You can't be positive every minute of every day and from my experience, a good wallow and vent actually help to give you relief.
