B is for Birds Outside My Window

Birds Outside My Window

Woodpeckers, nuthatches, cardinals and jays
Chirping, twittering and tweeting,
They visit the feeders on winter days
Even when it’s snowing or sleeting

Gluttonous starlings squabble and squawk
Scaring the chickadees away,
They’d probably be swearing if they could talk
Just imagine what they’d say!

I always love to photograph the birds
It gives me so much pleasure,
Some things are hard to put in words
My photos are such a treasure.

I’d love to attain that state of being
So pure, so wondrous and fine,
Being a bird must be simple and freeing
A miracle of Nature’s design.

This April I am participating in the A-Z Challenge

and the NaPoWroMo Challenge NaPoWriMo where I will write a post and a poem for each letter of the alphabet each day in April except for Sundays.

    1. Thanks, Swathi. I love taking photos of birds and other creatures in nature like the squirrels and chipmunks. So therapeutic. I'd love to know what kind of birds you take photos of, Swathi. Must be different from Canada.

    1. Hahah! You're a funny one, Elly. I only take photos, I don't try to catch them like a real cat would do. I don't let Kobie out. He'd be after them for sure.

  12. I think the only thing I would miss about being Human is the ability to write and put my feelings into words :) Other than that, the bird life sounds pretty lovely! :)

    1. I agree, Shailaja. The bird life would probably be tough with our cold winters but I still wouldn't mind being able to fly.
